Dahlia A. Walker-Huntington is solo practioner of the Law Offices of Dahlia A. Walker, P.A. in Hollywood, Florida. She practices in the areas of Family Law and Immigration. Dahlia has been certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a Family Law and County Court Mediator, and a Certified Arbitrator.  She is a Special Magistrate for the City of Miramar and the Broward County Animal Court.

Born in Kingston, Jamaica she migrated to the U.S. in 1979. Dahlia is a graduate of Holy Rosary Preparatory School and Convent of Mercy Academy "Alpha" in Kingston, Jamaica. She received an A.A. degree from Miami Dade College, with highest honors. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from Florida International University.

Dahlia received her law degree from University of Miami School of Law, where she was a Dean’s honor scholar, was listed in Who’s Who Among American Law Students in 1996 and Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities, 1996-1997. She was also honored as a Student Leader and a member of the Society of Bar and Gavel. Finally, Dahlia was also the Former President of the Association of Caribbean Law Students at the University of Miami.

In 2002, the Miami Herald recognized Dahlia with the prestigious Black History Month Honoree. She was an Outstanding Alumni honoree of Miami Dade College in 2001 and 2007. Also, Dahlia was MYSTIK 1580 AM Women’s Month Honoree in March, 2003.  The Florida Association of Women Lawyers – Miami Dade Chapter honored Dahlia as a Woman Inspiring Hope and Possibility in March, 2004.

From June, 2004 to June 2006 Dahlia was the elected advisor to the Jamaican Government and served on the Jamaican Diaspora Advisory Board representing the Southern United States.

Dahlia is a past president of the Caribbean Bar Association; a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association; The Jamaica-USA Chamber of Commerce; Alpha Academy Alumnae Association; and Friends of the Good Shepherd - MoBay, Inc.

Dahlia is active in the community and is often called upon to participate in community forums throughout the State of Florida and in Jamaica to speak on the issues of migration, immigration and citizenship. She is a former Adjunct Professor of Political Science at Miami Dade College. Dahlia is also a former advisory board member to Miami-Dade College Paralegal program and a former member of the Board of Directors of the Florida Council of Bar Association Presidents.

Dahlia's latest venture is the CEO of Jamaican Dawta - Powerful Women Worldwide. One arm of this new venture is Jamaican Dawta Events - an event planning company based in Jamaica.

Dahlia can be heard Fridays at 8:10 pm as the Host of “Your Legal Corner” on WAVS 1170AM Radio in Davie, Florida; and on Thursdays at 8:40 am on Power 106FM in Kingston, Jamaica.  She was a legal analyst on KLAS FM in Kingston, Jamaica.
