Employment
Since admission to practice law in Florida in 1989, my employment experience has spanned both Federal and municipal levels as well as private sector in-house counsel experience at an international publishing company. Since 1997, I have been in private practice in Miami, Florida. Since that time, I have concentrated exclusively in the area of Family Law in both initial and post judgment proceedings including divorce, paternity, adoption, modification and enforcement actions dealing with alimony, child custody, child support and relocation, as well as prenuptial agreements. My extensive divorce and family law experience includes various appointments as a guardian ad litem responsible for protecting the interests of minor children in actions involving custody, relocation, parental responsibility and contact and access issues.
Since 1997, I have utilized mediation frequently in my family cases as a means to bring my clients' matters to a prompt and fair resolution. In 2005, I was certified by the Supreme Court of Florida as a Family and County Civil Court Mediator. I accomplished this in order to better serve both colleagues and parties seeking to resolve their disputes without the undue expense, time and emotional turmoil that a divorce trial would entail.
Over the last 20 years, I have been a frequent guest speaker on Spanish language television networks, educating the public on various legal topics such as child custody, child support, divorce, domestic violence, missing children, surrogacy and adoption.
