DivorceDoneRight provides parents with an opportunity to ease a family's tensions through the early stages of a separation or divorce. Custody is often the first area where a separating family with children can benefit from mediation.
Our Mediators have served many families by mediating the custody issues that arise. Each has a distinguished background in helping families and children. If you can resolve your custody issues early on in your separation process, it can create a positive precedent. Further, the less parents stress over "who does what" with the kids, the better it is for the kids.
Here are some examples of the types of custody topics we mediate:
Physical Custody/Residency
- Schedules
- Holidays
- Vacations
- Birthdays
- Transportation
- Relocation
Childcare
- Daycare
- After-School Care
- Babysitters
Education
- Public School/Private School
- Post-High School Studies
- Religious Studies
Legal Custody
- Decision Making
- Healthcare

Communication
- How parents communicate with each other
- How information about the children is shared
This type of mediation is used by parents who are already divorced or by parents who were never married. It provides a venue for continued discussion and resolution of issues that arise related to your children as they grow older. When parents can promptly address and resolve issues in a way that is responsive to their children's needs and emotional sensitivities, it goes a long way toward easing the kid's stress when they know a decision needs to be made by their parents.
Here are some examples:
