Divorce Done Right
Divorce Done Right provides mediation services to help separating and divorcing couples keep control of their own destiny, keep their costs down, and keep the focus on what really matters.
DDR is a Mediation Group composed of mediators, attorneys, psychologists, and financial planners. We have 20 locations across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and Florida.
Divorce Done Right Mediators are trained and experienced practitioners in the mediation process. They also train others to mediate, teach mediation courses in our law schools, and have received distinguished awards and recognition from their peers. They hold leadership positions in state and national mediation organizations, and, for years, have received family mediation referrals from judges, lawyers, mental health professionals, and court-sponsored programs.
Since 2006, DDR has helped over 500 couples end their marriages in a more constructive and forward looking manner than they would have experienced had they ended fight it out in court.
DDR provides skilled professionals to help couples work out the terms of their divorce, mediating property settlements, parenting arrangements and custody, child and spousal support, and alimony. And when one of the parties does not want to come to the table to participate in mediation, DDR still provides help for the person who does, in the form of Conflict Coaching.
By doing this DDR helps people save money. A successfully mediated divorce can cost anywhere from $1,500 to $5,000 total. A litigated divorce can cost each person anywhere from $2,500 to numbers that defy the imagination.
With a mediated divorce, you and your spouse can work out your differences with one another and take the agreement that you have made and incorporate it into the settlement agreement and divorce order. You can get it accomplished in a matter of months. Compare that to a litigated divorce in which each party hires an attorney who charges an hourly rate and the process lags on for a year or more, with the fees, and emotions, continuing to escalate. Every day, people call in to learn about how they can keep their divorce from exploding into an emotionally scarring and financially damaging event. DDR guides them to an appropriate mediator who can help them.
DDR was founded by Jon Ostroff, who came up with the vision for Divorce Done Right because, despite a distinguished and lucrative legal career, he fell prey to a very contentious divorce, which consumed two and a half years of his life. Mediation is what finally resolved the issues for him and his spouse. After two months of meeting with a mediator, Jon was able to move on with his life. After overcoming the struggles of his divorce, Jon felt compelled to use his experience in a positive way, to offer other divorcing couples an opportunity to reduce the heartbreak that are so common in many divorces. He decided that he wanted others to experience the promise of mediation, where both sides could win, and the children did not have to become victimized by having a front row seat to the fighting and be forced to take sides.
